Jeep, kayak, cycling and walking.

Day one
We arrivea at Ísafjörður on the morning flight. We drive15 minutes by car to Önundarfjörður Fjord where we paddle for four hours among seabirds, ducks, oystercatchers, ringed plovers and many other birds. We then continue driving to Þingeyri village for an overnight stay. Here we can take a look at the oldest machine workshop and iron foundry in Iceland which is still in operation. It´s also possible to experience the atmosphere in an Icelandic fishing town like tasting various fish dishes, visiting the fish plant etc.

Day two
The next morning we drive to Haukadalur Valley where we jump on bikes and cycle the Svalvogar Circle Route. The road is exposed and the landscape is wild. We pass the scene of Gisla Saga, which is one of the most popular Icelandic sagas. We can visit A newly restored and beautiful small country church, 10.000 year old petrified tree trunks and beautiful valleys. The cycling takes about six hours and we spend the night in Þingeyri.

Day three
We drive to Látrabjarg bird cliff with a stop in the Hnjótur Museum. You will find many different relics at the museum like a Russian aeroplane that landed near to the museum A few years ago while being smuggled to USA. There are also objects owned by the late Gísli á Uppsölum, a hermit that had no contact with the outer world for decades, and relics from the rescue of a British trawler that was stranded under Látrabjarg bird cliff. Later we drive over Kollafjarðarheiði mountain pass to Ísafjarðardjúp Bay. Our accommodation is in Reykjanes where we end the day with a good bath in the geothermal pool.

Day four
We drive to Ísafjörður with various stops on the way in Ísafjarðardjúp.

Day five
We take a Boat trip to Veiðileysufjörður Fjord in the Hornstrandir Nature Reserve and walk on the wild side to Hornvík Bay, which is definitely one of the most beautiful places in the reserve. Accommodation is in a tent with stove and other luxuries.

Day six
A Boat trip back to Ísafjörður. Sailing under huge bird cliffs enroute. The boat is modern and fullfills all safety regulations. Evening flight back to Reykjavík.
