Add some of the world´s cleanest seawater, unspoilt nature and various wildlife and you have the ingredients for a waterborne paradise.

It´s hard to imagine a better or easier way to travel and enjoy the nature than to paddle a sea kayak. Paddling just outside the beach where two worlds unite; the land and the sea, The closeness to nature is great. The seals and birds are not scared, even though the kayaks are very close. The seals are so curious that they sometimes follow us during the day. Westfjords Adventure offer trips all around the Westfjords but have specialized in sea kayak trips in Jökulfirðir and Ísafjarðardjúp area. Trips that combine super jeep and kayak are also offerd where the highlands of the Westfjords are explored and kayaking in fjords below. All trips are tailor made to suit the customers needs and everything is possible whether summer or winter. Westfjords Adventure provide all the nessesary equipment e.g. modern tents and kayaks and food. The safety of the customers are of great importance. Everybody gets a dry suit and instructions on the first day. All guides have years of experience and know the area very well. Jökulfirðir and Djúp area are very secure and convenient for sea kayaking where mountains provide good shelter and the currents are weak. A typical three days trip in Jökulfirðir.

The first afternoon you are transported by speedboat to Hesteyri. That evening it´s possible to explore the area, search for seals or take a look at the old whaling station on the spit. The next day we paddle to the bottom of Veiðileysufjörður and camp for the night. The following morning wel continue on to one of the most beautiful fjords in Iceland, Lónafjörður. What makes it special, is it´s unspoilt nature, isolation and various wildlife. On the way, we´ll spot seals, birds and beautiful rock formations. Whales are also quite common in the area. On the last day, we paddle from the bottom of the fjord to Flæðareyri where the boat will pick us up and sail to Isafjörður. It´s easy to add two more days and go to Grunnavík.
